Lucky Dreams tournaments: how points are scored

Novomatic Knockout

Spin selected slots and earn points with every win multiplier.

BGaming Betathlon

Complete 3 new daily tasks and earn coins each time you reach a milestone.

SLHOT of The Week

Accumulate win multipliers to climb the ranks for weekly free spins.

The Luxe VIP Invitation

A weekly race where every $1 wagered secures 1 leaderboard point.

A common belief about Lucky Dreams tournaments is that the biggest bettor always wins. In most of them, it is wrong.

The Novomatic Knockout, SLHOT of The Week and the BGaming Daily Tournament score win multipliers: what a spin paid divided by what it cost. A 200x hit on a $0.20 stake beats a 50x hit on $10, even though the second won more money. Four spins on the same multiplier board show how it ranks:

StakeWinMultiplierPlace
$2$1,000500x1st
$0.20$40200x2nd
$10$50050xJoint 3rd
$0.50$2550xJoint 3rd

The $10 player won more than twelve times as much as the $0.20 player and still ranks below. That is the whole case for small stakes in these races.

The exception is The Luxe VIP Invitation, where every $1 wagered is a point and budget decides the table. BGaming Betathlon is different again: three new tasks each day, with coins at each milestone.

Knowing the type tells you which race your stake can compete in.

Five races were live in October. The Novomatic Knockout had a $20,000 pool and about three days left. BGaming Betathlon had $6,000 and twelve days. SLHOT of The Week offered 3,333 free spins, The Luxe VIP Invitation $5,000, and the BGaming Daily Tournament over 27,000 loyalty points.

Ended races move to the Finished tab, and new ones appear daily, weekly and monthly, according to the official FAQ. The numbers above will therefore change; the scoring types tend to repeat. Each race lists its own qualifying games, so read the card before you spin. In October the Knockout card held eleven Novomatic titles, Betathlon fifteen BGaming ones, and SLHOT just two, Hunt The Bucks and Gold Mine Express.

House races and network races

Races marked Only At Lucky Dreams are the casino's own. The official text says most tournaments add you to the leaderboard automatically once you bet on a qualifying game, and that one lifetime deposit is enough to enter any of them.

A point for bonus players: points earned while breaking the bonus bet limit are void, so keep spins under A$8 while a bonus is active.

Global races are network events. The FAQ says some of them require an opt-in when you launch one of the selected games, so a spin without that step may not count.

House or network, every race in the October list fell into one of three scoring types:

Scoring typeRaces in OctoberWhat decides the board
Win multiplierNovomatic Knockout, SLHOT of The Week, BGaming Daily TournamentBest hit relative to the stake
TurnoverThe Luxe VIP InvitationDollars wagered, 1 point per $1
Daily tasksBGaming BetathlonMilestones in three new tasks a day

Network races of the multiplier type draw a bigger field, so the top places usually need rarer hits than in a house race.

The leaderboard can be checked on the tournament page or inside a qualifying game during the event. If you are still wagering a welcome bonus, check the Lucky Dreams casino bonus rules first.

A pool is shared, not paid to one winner. The official tournament text says prizes are usually split across a number of places, so that more players end up with something.

Prize types vary by race: cash, bonus money, free spins, holiday vouchers or loyalty points. Bonus prizes come with wagering, and any prize needs an active, unrestricted account at the moment it is credited. A loyalty point prize is the slowest to turn into money: at Atlantic, 200 points buy $5 of bonus with its own 40x.

An angry review that accuses online gambling in general of being corrupt and of ripping players off, without naming any specific amount or transaction.

Has noticed better wins here than on other sites, and says verification was confusing at first but got sorted out.

Tournament FAQ

What is a win multiplier?

The win divided by the stake. A $0.50 spin that pays $25 is a 50x multiplier. Multiplier races rank players by these values, so stake size matters less than in turnover races.

Do tournament prizes have wagering?

Bonus prizes usually do. Unless a race states otherwise, Lucky Dreams bonuses carry 40x wagering and a 7-day limit. Cash prizes and loyalty points follow their own rules.

Can I see past results?

Yes. The tournaments page has a Finished tab next to Active, where ended races are kept. It is a useful check before a new race, because it shows which kinds of events have already run and are likely to return.

Do I need to play every day for Betathlon?

The card says three new daily tasks, with coins at each milestone. Playing on more days gives more tasks to complete, but there is no rule that you must play every day.

How do I keep tournament play under control?

Set a budget for the whole race before it starts and stop when it is gone, wherever you are on the board. Leaderboards push people to chase. Gambling Help Online: 1800 858 858.
